Privacy Policy

The short version

We don't ask you for an account, name, email or payment details, and the numbers you type into the calculators are processed in your browser. We don't receive them.

What stays in your browser

Everything you enter (rent, names, amounts) is used by JavaScript running on your device. To make sharing possible, the page stores your inputs in the web address after the "#" symbol. Browsers don't send that part of an address to the web server. When you copy a share link and give it to someone, they can see whatever is in it, so share it only with people you trust. Names are only what you type; you can use first names or nicknames.

Hosting and server logs

This site is served as static files from a hosting provider (Cloudflare). Like almost every website, the host's servers may automatically log technical information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and operation. We don't use this to identify you.

Cookies and analytics

Right now ToolDrop sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising.

Advertising (when enabled)

We may enable Google AdSense in the future to pay for the site. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted, and we will show a consent notice where the law requires one. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. We will update this page before ads go live.

Affiliate links (when enabled)

If we ever add affiliate links, we will label them and the company you click through to may set its own cookies. We will update this page before any affiliate links appear.

Children

ToolDrop is a general-audience tool for adults splitting household costs. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Your California rights

Because we don't collect or sell personal information, there isn't personal information about you for us to disclose or delete. If that changes (for example when advertising is enabled) we will explain what is collected and how to opt out here.

Changes and contact

We'll post changes on this page and update the date above. Questions? Email CONTACT_EMAIL_PLACEHOLDER.
